Characters in Megillat Esther

What do the characters in the Megillat Esther teach us about responsibility, power relations and human nature? In this resource, learners will examine the personalities and actions of the megilla’s four main characters; Achashverosh, Esther, Mordechai, and Haman and determine the ways in which their decisions impacted their own lives as well as the lives of the people around them. After recording their findings (see the identity card template in the attachment below), students will choose a character from the megillah who inspires them to make a decision or choose a course of action that will yield positive results for them and/or the people around them and share what they came up with.
